We have re-vamped our website and thought it would be a good idea to have a post briefly explaining who we are and what we do.
Mangla Welfare Trust was established in 2017 when it was recognised that something needed to be done to provide accessible healthcare for those living in poverty in Mangla Hamlet, Pakistan. Those who founded the charity are all British Pakistani individuals, who were brought up or lived in Mangla and still have family and friends there too. Many of those who currently live in Mangla cannot afford basic healthcare and medicine, which has a knock on effect on health, education, and the quality of life. This is why MWT are hoping to build the first ever Hospital of its kind in the area, so that no one has to worry about not being able to access healthcare.
Since the beginning of our charity being established, we have raised enough funds to obtain some land, and create a boundary wall for where our Hospital site will be. During the COVID pandemic, we turned our attentions towards providing support to families via food packs and PPE supplies, and we were able to support over 250 families for an entire month. Alhamdulillah.
We hope we are able to fulfill our vision to continue to help those most in need. Your donations and duas are always appreciated. Feel free to follow us on our social media platforms to see more regular updates.
As for our new supporters, we would like to welcome you! You can contact us here, and we will respond back to you as soon as we can, InshaAllah.
